I was sick of waiting for twilight so i tried to write some of it myself. It's really short and I don't think all of it is right, but here it is anyways:
Chapter 1:
The wind blew strongly into the warriors den, and Brambleclaw twitched his tail in the breeze. Two moonrises ago Hawkfrost had saved him from Mudclaw, the bloodthirsty Windclan warrior, and he still couldn’t get over that. He was getting to know his half brother better, and he wished that Squirrelflight would stop questioning his loyalty.
“Get up furball,” meowed a scorn voice. “Time for the dawn patrol.” Brambleclaw realized it was Cloudtail. “You’re taking nine lifetimes. Hurry!” He padded out of the den and glanced over at Squirrelflight, who was talking with Brightheart, but she didn’t even notice him. Firestar was at the foot of the Highrock, sharing tongues with Sandstorm. Leafpool was with then, but it seemed like she was hallucinating or something.
“Coming Cloudtail,” he called loudly, and followed the white warrior as he vanished from the camp.
Chapter 2:
Squirrelflight noticed that Leafpool was in a dream all day. “What’s wrong with you?” she meowed, concerned. “You’re acting like you saw Tigerstar, or something.”
“Um… Squirrelflight, it has to do with Crowfeather…”
“Crowfeather?!?! That rude Windclan warrior. What did he do now? Bite your ear off.” Squirrelflight was getting mad. “If he bothers you any more, I will go over there and teach him something…” Squirrelflight scraped her claws on the clearing.
“No, you got it all wrong,” Leafpool insisted. “Remember the day Mudclaw and Hawkfrost attacked? Crowfeather saved my life. I was about to fall into the camp.” Her eyes showed Squirrelflight all of her hidden love and sadness for the Windclan warrior.
“I could tell something was going on.” Squirrelflight whispered, “I dreamed that you were in danger, and someone saved you. I didn’t know who but I get it now.” She saw Dustpelt padding by them, and she knew they should shut up before he heard this. “We’ll talk later, ok?”
“Ok,” Leafpool meowed halfheartedly, and she strolled back into Cinderpelt’s den, worried. Squirrelflight shook her head and snatched a rabbit from the fresh kill pile.
Chapter 3:
The sun was beginning to set, and Brambleclaw saw the rays of light creeping through the branches. Everything was peaceful, and the only thing on his mind was Squirrelflight. He padded into the den and eyed her, talking with Ferncloud about the kits. “Squirrelflight, can I talk to you… alone?”
“I guess so, if you don’t brag about having the best brother in the forest or anything.” Squirrelflight snorted and then lightened up. “Ok, what is it?”
“I’m really sorry,” Brambleclaw began. “I love you Squirrelflight. I miss you, you know, and I would die without you. Don’t you understand.” He paused, searching for the right words. “I care about you so much… more then Hawkfrost. Believe me. Please.”
“Stop apologizing furball,” Squirrelflight meowed, “I believe you.” Her eyes glowed in the warmth of the sunset. “And I miss you too. All the time, so can we be together again?” She almost licked behind Brambleclaw’s ear, but caught herself waiting for his response.
“Right Squirrelflight. I don’t know how we could be so mouse-brained,” He snorted, and some of the life came back into his eyes. “Come on, I think Firestar would want a hunting party.” He nudged the she-cat towards the camp exit and they left with each other, for the first time in what seemed like moons.
Chapter 4:
Leafpool was still anxious. What was worth more to her… Crowfeather, or being a loyal medicine cat? Her thought s were interrupted by an excited yowl. “Graystripe!” Firestar rushed over to where the gray cat was standing, leaning against the thorny brambles. “You came here?!? How did you know?” All the cats properly heard Firestar’s noisy welcome, and they were gathering around the Highrock.
Leafpool noticed Dustpelt sniffing Graystripe’s coat. “You smell strange. Were you at…”
“The cutter.” Ravenpaw’s meow broke the Dustpelt off. “Yes he was, in fact, but he still convinced me to help him find you guys. The entire clan’s eyes were fixed on the two cats like half starved foxes.
“What was it like,” Ferncloud meowed, “Like, how did you find us. Especially being turned into a kittypet.”
Graystripe didn’t say anything, but he padded into the shaded camp after the other cats.
Birchkit was meowing noisily to Ferncloud. “Who is that kittypet? Can you tell me?” Ferncloud didn’t respond, but just gave the kit a warning glance. Leafpool had to admit it, the gray cat looked a little more like a weak kittypet then a real warrior. She didn’t dare say anything to Firestar, because she knew what would happen.
Firestar’s voice rang out through the clearing. “Graystripe has returned, as you know, and he will remain deputy.” Firestar nodded his deputy halfheartedly. “I do want someone to help him with his duties, for now, while he is still adjusting to the new forest.”
Leafpool knew her father had thought of a clever way to get by Graystripe. She listened closely to what he was about to say. Most of the cats wee looking at Brambleclaw, even Squirrelflight looked at him admiringly.
“That cat will be Brambleclaw.” Firestar finished. “This meeting has ended.”
Chapter 5:
Squirrelflight noticed Brambleclaw was in a better mood since Firestar let him help with the deputy duties. She knew it was hard on her father to admit that Graystripe was not exactly the same cat anymore. She padded into the warrior’s den, exhausted but happy. The mossy bedding was stirred by Brambleclaw’s breathing, and she felt more at home then she did since they left the old forest.
She woke up to find the den cold and empty. Firestar was meowing uneasily in the clearing, so she got up quickly. “Brambleclaw, what’s happening,” she called as she skimmed her eyes over the sea of faces.
“Leafpool has vanished,” Sandstorm meowed worriedly. She must have been remembering the time she was trapped with the twolegs. “Dustpelt took out a searching party. They should be back soon. Brambleclaw is with him.”
“Leafpool is gone?!?” Squirrelflight yowled, keeping the tears in her eyes from falling. She didn’t wait for any orders and ran out of the camp, determined to help find her missing sister again. The rain poured down and drenched her flame colored coat, but she didn’t care. All that mattered was that her beloved sister was found.
Chapter 6:
Brambleclaw followed Leafpool’s faint scent all the way to the Windclan border. He could hear Dustpelt breathing behind him. Then a pair of green eyes appeared ahead of them. “Who is that?” he hissed, and took a step back.
“It’s only me, you mouse brain. You’re not scared of me… right,” Squirrelflight snorted. “I tracked you two here. I want to help.”
“Be quiet!” Brambleclaw hissed, his amber eyes shining like fire. “Have you not noticed how close we are to Windclan territory?” He let his eyes drift across the border. “She’s over there, and she went alone.”
The three searching cats padded over to the border. “Maybe Starclan came to her in a dream, and told her that Windclan needed help,” Squirrelflight suggested, but she knew what Leafpool was doing. Breaking the warrior code! How could she, and she hadn’t told her anything.
“Look at that,” Dustpelt growled. He pointed his nose at the two little shapes silhouetted by the morning sunrise. It was.. Leafpool and Crowfeather.
